Rainy Beach Volleyball in the Mountains

Workouts: Saturday-Ran 10 miles, Sunday-Rode 1 hour, Monday-Ran 3 miles plus weights, Today-REST!!

Friday afternoon Ken, Jasper and I headed up to Breckenridge to watch Errin play in a sand volleyball tournament.

Jasper found the car ride to be pretty tiring…

As we were setting up camp, it started to drizzle on us…but seeing as it has been so hot-WE LOVED IT!

Jasper had a blast running around chasing squirrels…

And my adorable husband built us a fire!

I threw some sausages on the grill and some corn and we called it dinner! Complete with cookies for dessert!

Sometime in the middle of the night, it started to rain and while it woke us up for a bit, it was really peaceful.

When we finally dragged ourselves out of our sleeping bags, we enjoyed some steak, eggs and bagels before heading into town to meet E and C.

As it happened, we made it just in time to see Errin’s first match…and they won! Ken and Colin headed off on a bike ride and Jasper and I headed out for 10 miles. Boy, was it a tough 10 miles at altitude and trail! Whew.

I made it back in time to see a couple of other friends play and then to see E’s second game. They won again! And it rained…most of the game! It was chilly and AMAZING!

Afterwards, we ventured back down the mountain…and grabbed some BeauJos for dinner!

(E and her partner C ended up taking 3rd overall! So awesome!!)

Sunday-Church, little ride with Ken, going away dinner for a friend. Chillaxing!

Monday-Cleaning, little run with the pup, nothing overly exciting. Lesson planning. Eek!

This week is the calm before the storm…
